What a lovely find. Off the beaten track, with a small parking area set in a very quiet cove. Great food, well cooked, and good-sized portions, too. The liver dish was wonderful. Fish and Chips looked great also. Shall be returning for sure.
We had Sunday lunch here and it was delicious, I had the apricot and goats cheese nut roast which was amazing, someone else had the lamb, mint, pea and asparagus pie and the others had the brisket roast. None of us regretted getting what we ordered, the portions were very generous and they cater well to gf and veggie/vegan. Lovely atmosphere and very kind staff. Dogs allowed too which was great. Highly recommend
Don't know when the 'great food,'reviewers went to the wilcove, but I had dark, warmed up limp chips, which were luke warm. The fish was warm but l guessed had been twice fried, so it was like mush. Not impressed at all, won't go back.
Went for lunch today.
Lovely food and very reasonable on price.
The staff very friendly and attentive
We will certainly be coming again
Had a lovely meal with my wife. The place is dog friendly too. Good range of well kept beers.
We stayed at the Wilcove Inn for our sons passing out parade from HMS Raleigh (5 mins away). The stay was excellent the room was cosy, the staff couldn't do enough for us, including putting an extra bed in our room at very little extra cost. We eat at the Inn both nights of our stay as the food was excellent both price and quality and breakfast was lovely. I'd like to say a massive thank you to Gemma and the team can't wait to return in July. Thank you.
Fantastic food, amazing menu, everyone on the table could find much that they would have loved. Really nice people, amazing deserts. A proper gem.
This place is not to be missed. It is a beautiful quiet location and has a nice cosy feeling. The whole setting is breathtaking and the views from the pub and beer garden is amazing. Massive carpark. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Good selection of drinks and the food is top notch. Always impressed when we visit.
Having previously had a fantastic meal at Wilcove we thought we would return this evening for a special celebration. There was 3 couples so therefore not a busy evening, however the food was appalling served on cold plates, the fish pie was over baked in a small broth bowl the potato was glopped and only 2 small pieces of fish the size of a finger nail with limp frozen veg and anaemic garlic slice. The chips arrived in cold plates and the cheese couldn’t melt on top as the chips were cold. However the fish my husband had was tasty the chips were also cold. The macaroni cheese was basic but hot in temp. Unfortunately the back room where we sat had flies that were landing on the food before you had chance to have a mouthful. Not sure what has gone wrong with this place or/if we were just unlucky this evening 18/09/2023 and maybe the chef was having a bad day or day off? The young lady that served us was very pleasant and it’s a shame she was left to deal with the inconsistencies from the chef.
